Founder Story

From classroom teacher to learning partner

I'm Candice Renee Person — an educator, writer, curriculum designer, coach, and mother. I hold a BA in English, an MSc. Ed (Master of Science in Education), and an MFA in Writing. For more than twenty years, I've served students as a classroom teacher, special educator, school leader, college instructor, tutor, and instructional coach.

Across every role, I noticed the same thing: people did not simply need more information. They needed clear guidance, practical tools, and someone who could help them figure out what to do next.

That is why I founded The EduTutor Hub. It is more than a tutoring company — it is a learning support hub for families, students, educators, and organizations ready to move from uncertainty to action.

As a homeschooling and worldschooling mother, I also know what it feels like to make important educational decisions for your own child. My approach is rooted in the belief that learning should never be one-size-fits-all — every learner deserves support that is clear, practical, and centered on real people.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Curriculum design, engaging professional development for teaching teams, instructional coaching, and personalized learning plans for families with learners in grades 3–12. I also support adult learners — including educators seeking coaching or instructional support and adults sharpening their English language skills.

Yes — completely free with zero obligation. It's a 15-minute conversation to see what kind of support fits your learner, your team, or your organization.

I work with schools, charter networks, fellowships, education nonprofits, and community organizations — including partners like Teach for America, Parent Villages, Achara Consulting, Nutrition First, A Queen's Narrative, and MLK Charter School of Excellence.

Tutoring is available one-to-one or in small groups for learners in grades 3–12. I support students across a wide range of needs — from building confidence in reading, writing, and math to sharpening study skills and test prep — with sessions tailored to how each student learns best.

Our core focus is grades 3–12, and we do take younger learners by request when it's the right fit. We also serve adult learners — educators looking for coaching or instructional support, and adults building confidence in reading, writing, or ESL skills. Plus, we partner with classroom educators, homeschool families, and organizations looking for curriculum or program support.

Yes. I design and facilitate hands-on, engaging professional development sessions built around real student data, classroom challenges, and practical strategies educators can use the very next day. Follow-up tools and templates are included so the learning continues after the session ends.
